Abstract
The necessity to work out an action plan together with careful consideration of location of housing, planning requirements and availability of building materials, mobilising finances and a time bound programme for slum rehabilitation and housing for the poor have been discussed. The need to identify the stockholders and actors and to mobilise them in housing delivery programme have been emphasised. Also participation of the community, cooperatives and private sectors in the above are essentially to be included in the overall scheme.
