Abstract
Vintage trolleys currently serve tourists and shoppers destinedfor recreation, tourism, shopping, and convention facilities in 26 cities in North America and have become community icons and significant cultural heritage tourism attractions. This article reports the findings of a study to determine the factors critical to the success of vintage trolleys. Eight vintage trolley operations were investigated, and case studies of each operation were completed. A cross case analysis identified a total of 12 factors as either common to all operations or present in a majority of the vintage trolley operations.
