The Tourism Activity Index is a composite measure of tourism activity levels in San Antonio, Texas, developed to provide a barometer for evaluating the strength or weakness of tourism in the local economy. This particular index uses the principal components method of factor analysis to derive the index weights. This article presents the methodology, data collection techniques, and index results.
