Abstract
A unique and significant tourism event tookplace October23-27, 1988 in Vancouver, British Columbia when more than 500 participants from 64 countries and 33 U. S. states attended the conference, Tourism—A Vital Force for Peace. The conference featured five plenary sessions with illustrious speakers and 75 concurrent sessions and idea exchanges. Some of the conference highlights are contained in the report which follows.
