The package tourist has rarely been studied by the travel researcher. This paper examines package tourism in New Zealand and aims to provide more detailed information on the markets of three types of tours there: coach tours, camping tours, and fly-drive tours. Demographic and socioeconomic profiles as well as the process of tour selection are examined.
