This is a study of the descriptors of the work lives of women superintendents in urban areas. The variables of interest were perceived sources of job satisfaction, personal benefits of the job, self-fulfillment, and personal strengths that they bring to the job. The study indicates that women urban superintendents use collegial approaches in highly bureaucratic/structured systems.
