Theology and Religious Studies: Friends or Enemies?

Abstract

“Exponents or practitioners of theology and of religious studies have become estranged, so much so that enmity is often the only appropriate description of the relationship. My thesis further holds that this is a regrettable development, one consequence of which is that both camps lose because of this hostility, as does religious thought and life generally.”
