Abstract
“For a variety of reasons, evangelicals are no longer uniformly viewed as a lunatic fringe by the rest of the religious world. Familiarity carries with it a certain degree of accountability. Evangelicals can no longer conduct their business in private. What is some of the business which now must be conducted? What are the defects, tensions, and problems which evangelicalism must deal with if it is to mature as a creative religious force?”
