Abstract
“Both thought and life for a new age need a more adequate substrate than either that of the substance philosophy of the West or the process philosophy of the East. … We must have a faith adequate for the needs of one world, a faith focused in universal truth. The New Testament categories of Spirit and Love have never been developed as a total framework for all thought. They have been prescribed for life and conduct, to be sure, but now they need even more importantly to be developed as the total framework for the fullness of meaning that can be trusted as truth. Unless such meaning is again forthcoming we shall not find the motivation for life and conduct that is surely the critical side of all general thought.”
