Abstract
“The truly modern question with regard to Christ … is this: if there is nothing in the person of Christ that will yield evidence of his divinity for an understanding at second hand, and if we are nonetheless prevented from looking elsewhere than Christ in our attempt to understand God at first hand, is there a peculiar Lebensform visible in the life of Christ according to which we might know how to go on with the infinite mystery of the divine?”
