Abstract
“The Gospel hypothesis treats of the relation between God and man instead of the relation between sun and planets like the Copernican. The statements in the Gospels are accordingly to be regarded as open, and we are to think it the most natural thing in the world if every so often contrary statements appear and bring about an ‘alternation of perspective.’”
