Abstract
THESIS: Two idolatries, having some things in common, are evident today in the worship of faith and the worship of knowledge. The worship of faith is a heresy that occurs within the church and passes as an especially fine type of Christianity; the worship of knowledge exists largely outside the church. Both avoid the dimension of depth. What is the heresy of simple faith, and how are we to deal with it?
