Blackburn Cathedral: William Temple’s vision for a new see and cathedral finally fulfilled

Abstract

William Temple had a primary role in the creation of the see and cathedral of Blackburn out of Manchester diocese in 1926. The current development of Blackburn Cathedral Court is a fulfilment of Temple’s vision for Lancashire, reinterpreted for a new era.
