Abstract
This is the second of two papers dealing with a new conceptual model of fiber breakage in carding. Part II deals with the development of a computer simulation based on the theoretical model postulated in Part I. Some remaining fundamental unknowns are identified and left as operator choices at this stage of the model. The model shows good agreement between predicted and measured fiber length distribu tions. Not only will this model be useful as a predictive tool (predicting length distri butions from measured fiber properties), but we will also be able to investigate possible consequences of altering fiber properties and carding parameters for the resultant carded fiber length distributions.
