A method is described using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation technique to predict fabric hand. A fuzzy transformation matrix Rs is established for subjective assessment of light weight dress fabric handle. Another aspect is the development of a weighted factor vector As for subjective analysis, which was deduced from a survey of a panel of judges ( n = 25). From these two sets of data, comprehensive fabric hand can be calculated. The calculated results showed very good agreement with the objective assessment data derived from the same mathematical model, using values of physical and mechanical properties of light weight fabrics reported in Part I of this paper.
