This paper discusses the relationship between dynamic modulus and abrasion re sistance, friction, and fatigue of mercerized and crosslinked cotton yams. With slack and stretch mercerized yam samples, the correlation between dynamic modulus and abrasion resistance, friction, and fatigue is good, as it also is with crosslinked cotton yarns. These results show that sonic modulus measurements are related to the abrasion resistance of yams.
