A simple "hot box" solar collector, reported in an earlier paper, was modified into a cylindrical circular trough solar concentrator for ease of fabric loading and uniform year-round heating. Combined scouring and bleaching of polyester/cotton suiting by a pad-batch method was done using sodium chlorite with comparable results. The paper discusses the design and performance of the modified solar oven and the results of combined scouring and bleaching of polyester/cotton blends.
