The performance of 100% cotton open-end and ring spun yarns on an air-jet loom and their behavior in corduroy fabric are investigated. The amount of twist loss and the twist distribution across the fabric width are determined. The effects of changing yarn count and original twist level on the retained twist and on fabric properties are discussed.
