The experimental data generated in Part I of this investigation were analyzed to model the mechanism of the knitting process. As a result, it is possible to effectively predict the highest value of yam linear density knittable on a machine of given gauge and to calculate the value of the maximum possible tightness factor resulting from a given combination of machine gauge and yarn linear density.
