Abstract
Three different techniques have been used in this work to examine the morphological and structural properties of polyester fibers from an Egyptian manufacturer. The scan ning electron microscope was used to examine the surface topography and the shape and area of the transverse sectional view of these fibers. This information was used with that taken from double-beam microinterferograms to calculate the refractive indices and birefringence of the fibers. The x-ray diffraction technique was used to investigate some structural parameters of polyester fibers.
