Abstract
Gravimetric respirable dust fractions obtained from six cotton samples with the new cotton particulates analyzer (CPA) were used to evaluate each of several different methods of measuring cotton dust. These cottons were previously used to measure dust by each method. There is no general relationship between respirable dust and trash for different cottons. Additionally, the CPA trash fractions were compared with Shirley analyzer trash fractions. The CPA can be substituted for the Shirley analyzer to measure trash fractions of different cottons.
