The perceived comfort of cotton fabric has been attributed, at least in part, to its high moisture regain relative to synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester. A cotton-like moisture absorption level can be achieved by incorporating a telechelic water soluble segment, such as an amine-terminated polyethylene oxide (PEOD), into the nylon backbone, or grafting onto the nylon chain a low molecular weight poly(dimethylacrylamide) (PDMAA).
