Abstract
The response to durable-press finishing of a plain weave fabric from polyester filament-wrapped twistless cotton yarn was explored. The actual textile properties and the balance of textile properties were compared to those of a conventional cotton printcloth from ring-spun yarn. The experimental fabric exhibited soft dimpling that distracted from durable-press appearance. Wrinkle recovery angles were near normal, and retentions of strength and abrasion resistance were higher than normal. Perfor mance is discussed in relation to the yarn structure.
