Experiments carried out on cotton, acrylic, and polyester/cotton rotor-spun yams obtained in two types of open-end machines (Süssen and Elitex) show that the spinning contraction value seems to be dependent on machine type and on yarn winding tension during spinning. Some predicting formulas are given for special cases.
