Abstract
A new way to produce wool that is both flame resistant and machine washable is by simultaneous treatment with tetrabromophthalic anhydride and tolylene diisocyanate in hot cresol. The treatment illustrates the combined application of wool-reactive compounds in nonaqueous swelling solvents for multiple benefits.
