Equilibrium swelling measurements have been made on Hercosett resin in a wide range of liquids with solubility parameters between 6.8 and 21.2 (cal/cm3)½, and also in buffer solutions at various pH and ionic strengths. It is shown that swelling of the resin is confined to acidic aqueous media.
