Aluminum ions absorbed by wool yarns from water/alcohol mixtures alter the load-extension behavior of the yams. The magnitude of the effect is related to the yarn geometry and the concentration of the various alcohols, but it is not always directly proportional to the quantity of Al absorbed. I
