The existing empirical and semi-empirical techniques for predicting drying times for heavy woollen fabrics on perforated drums are applied to the drying of a cotton/polyester fahric in a Fleissner mini RT heat transfer unit. Recourse is also taken to applying the generalized partial differential equations of energy and continuity in order to develop a composite model of the transport phenomena associated with this operation.
