Two-way stretch fabrics for apparel uses can be efficiently produced from natural fibers by using elastic core-spun yarns. The fabric structure influences stretch characteristics considerably. An open weave offers higher stretch than a close weave. The thread count distribution significantly varies fabric stretch. An increase in ends and/or picks per inch in the greige fabric reduces the stretch of the finished fabric.
