Abstract
A relatively simple but an effective mechanical device has been designed and developed which is capable of rotating the ring at any desired speed in the direction of the traveller. The comparative spinning tests on the conventional and revolving rings on the same conventional ring spinning frame have proved that the revolving ring is highly effective in reducing the end-breakages at high production rates. Besides increased production rates, the basic concept of revolving the ring has several added advantages, such as better yarn appearance, regularity and twist-distribution and longer life of the traveller.
