Abstract
This paper deals with a new device for the evaluation of the dry mass and the moisture content of fiber samples of wool and running yarns or slivers. The device measures the varying dielectric constant simultaneously in high- and low-frequency bands. The contribution of the absorbed water is almost the same in the two bands; contribution of the dry mass, however, differs considerably. The device uses this phenomenon. The apparatus is rather simple and provides sufficient accuracy. The experimental results agree with the theoretical calculations.
