Abstract
Ten samples of wool top from different mills have been examined for their dielec tric properties at 21 °C and frequencies from 180 c/see to 1.6 Me/see. A good correla tion was found between the content of water-soluble material and the regain error which would be indicated by a dielectric moisture meter calibrated for an average top. The range of this regain error at 1.6 Me/see was ±1% at 20% regain. An analysis has been made of the combined effect of several factors on the possible accuracy of dielec tric moisture meters.
