Abstract
The reaction spinning of polymethylmethacrylate fibers was studied. Measurements of fiber molecular weight were made for samples taken at various extrusion rates, column heights and temperatures. It was found that chemical reaction appeared to be the domi nant rate process in forming the fibers of the present work. The experimental data , resembled independently determined polymerization studies of polymethylmethacrylate.
