Abstract
A new electronic device for counting and classifying neps into four groups according to their size is described in the present paper. Some work carried out with industrial card webs from spinning mills shows that the most effective sample to characterize a web comprises four test specimens. The statistical distribution of neps according to their size and the correlation between the resutts obtained with the apparatus and with the visual rating by TEFO standards are also considered.
