Abstract
In a previous paper responses of 66 nylon yarn to environmental changes were ana lyzed experimentally and an equation of state was developed from theoretical considera tions. The equation of state is herein analyzed as to its adequacy as a prediction equation for those environmental changes by the techniques of statistical regression analysis, and the regression coefficients are obtained. The regression technique is sketched in matrix form, and the various statistical tests and their implications are discussed. The equation of state is highly satisfactory as a prediction equation.
