A quantitative evaluation of the principal paratropic and diatropic interferences of ramie fiber is undertaken using a diffractometer technique with Geiger counter detection and strictly monochrotnatized radiation. The relative intensities of the main crystalline interferences have been measured and found to be in reasonable agreement with those calculated for the Andress lattice structure. Absolute values of the crystalline fraction however could not be derived from the present results.
