In an exploratory study the reaction products of ethylenimine with four aldehydes were evaluated primarily as wash-wear finishes for cotton fabric. Two dialdehydes, glyoxal and glutaraldehyde, and two α,β-unsaturated monoaldehydes, acrolein and crotonaldehyde, were used in the study. One of the new finishing agents, the reaction product of acrolin and ethylenimine, imparted good wrinkle recovery to cotton fabric.
