By an odd coincidence our copy of this volume contains an equation (p. 384) in which a 2-imidazolidinone appears to be cleaved by alkali to give a urea derivative somewhat similar to the one shown [1]. However, the text makes it clear that the arrow in the equation was accidentally reversed, and that a synthesis of a 2-imidazolidinone is being illustrated.
