Abstract
A faster method of measuring neps in cotton ginned lint has been developed at the Cotton Ginning Research Laboratory, Stoneville, Mississippi.
The time saved by this method is due largely to the use of a lap maker and a modified definition of what constitutes a nep, and amounts to 50% of the AMS method currently used.
This method is used at the Stoneville Laboratory to make preliminary screening tests in the Ginning Research program.
