Changes in the Weight Distribution of Fiber Lengths of Cotton as a Result of Random Fiber Breakage

Abstract

An integro-differential equation is derived; it describes the time rate of change of the weight distribution of lengths for cotton fibers. A solution to the equation is found. Comparison between theory and experiment is made. Agreement is satisfactory.
