Abstract
This paper involves a statistical analysis of the relationship between various parameters on load-elongation curves for wool fibers in order to find low-variance single-fiber mechanical prop erties. No consideration is given the functional significance of these properties.
The Hookean slope and the force at 20% elongation in the wet state were found to be inde pendent of each other for one particular sample of fiber. The area under the curve up to 20% elongation was found to be dependent upon both the Hookean slope and the force at 20% elonga tion, and it is therefore unnecessary to determine this area if the latter two parameters are known.
