Abstract
It is fitting that TEXTILE RESEARCH JOURNAL should be cognizant of the honor bestowed on William D. Appel, Frederic Bonnet, and Edward R. Schwarz for their outstanding achievements in the fields of research and education. At a luncheon ceremony, December 1, 1949, held in connection with the Annual Meeting of Textile Research Institute, Inc., certificates were awarded naming these gentlemen Founding Fellows of T.R.I. The citations which follow were presented by John H. Dillon, Director of Research of T.R.I. and The Textile Foundation. After each citation A. G. Ashcroft, President of the Institute, presented the certificates naming each individual a Fellow of Textile Research Institute.—Editor
