Flocculation and precipitation of a colloidal dispersion are insep arably related in as much as the phenomena associated with the latter process are closely dependent upon those of the first. This paper will offer a brief discussion of the information relevant to both these processes, and of the variables to be encountered in such an investigation. Reports to follow will present the results of experimental work.
