Abstract
A method is given for determination of the regain of entire warps immediately after slashing on the silk system. This method obviates the necessity of taking samples either from the warp dur ing slashing or from the end of the warp immediately after sizing. The necessary samples can be obtained when the warp has woven in the loom as far as a convenient cut-mark.
The purpose of this set of experiments was to determine whether or not a warp conditioner installed at the front of the slasher was actually bringing the regain of the warps up to the desired value. In this case it was found that the capacity of the conditioner was much too small. Consequently it was merely cooling the warps and not conditioning them, and the warps were leaving the slasher with regains from 1 to 7%.
