Abstract
Cotton fibres of Mexican 128-6, grown under continuous illumination and uniform temperatures, and therefore without any evidence of lamellation of the cell wall have a lighter unit fibre weight, a lower breaking load per fibre, a higher percentage of thin-walled fibres, and approximately the same intrinsic strength as fibres of the same strain from plants grown in pots under field conditions during the same season.
