Abstract
In this paper, a method is described by which record charts produced with the Moscrop single strand yarn tester may be analyzed relatively quickly, easily, and accurately. The mean strength, standard error of the mean, and coefficient of variability of the several hundred observations per chart can be determined with considerable accuracy in a relatively short time and with a minimum of effort. The analysis is made graphically, and is based upon the fact that the strength data obtained with this tester are normally distributed, or practically so. A device for projecting the image of a chart, thus facilitating the canalysis, is also described.
