Abstract
A perfluoroalkyl-containing diol (F-diol) is introduced into polyisocyanate, and novel bifunctional perfluoroalkyl-containing bisulfite adduct of polyisocyanate (FBAP) is successfully prepared after blocking with sodium metabisulfite. FBAP is applied to cotton fabrics by a pad-dry-cure process. The treated fabrics show good durable press and water and oil repellent properties: the dry wrinkle recovery angle reaches 210° and the water and oil repellent ratings are 100 and 6, respectively. After 10 washing cycles, the water repellent rating is still 90 and the oil repellent rating is 5.
