Abstract
To determine the optimum drafting conditions of twin spun yam spinning, the drafting force must be investigated. In this work, we conduct a drafting force experiment based on Lyocell twin roving of to investigate the influence of the roller gauge, draft ratio, and roving spacing. The experimental results show that the drafting force of the Lyocell twin roving has a high value with a wider plateau. In addition, twin roving spacing affects drafting behavior. Consequently, the 1.2 break draft ratio and 54 mm back roller gauge corresponding to 10 mm roving spacing used in conjunction with 1.2 denier Lyocell roving of 120g/30yd are the optimum conditions to obtain the best yarn quality for 19.7 tex twin spun yams.
