Ladder-knit fancy yams are produced using a range of take-up ratios and component yams on a knitting machine that produces fancy yams. The effect of the properties of the component yarns on the final count, tenacity at break, and appearance of ladder-knit fancy yams is studied, and an expression is derived to determine the final count of these ladder yarns.
