Abstract
Given the increase in the number of students receiving behavioral intervention services in public schools, there is a need to understand how to leverage the existing skills of behavior analysts within a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to prevent and respond to interfering behaviors. We address common questions that educators may have when seeking support for students with interfering behaviors. These questions include: 1) When might a classroom teacher request the expertise of a behavior analyst? 2) How might the skills of a behavior analyst be leveraged to support students who demonstrate interfering behaviors within MTSS? and 3) How might collaboration unfold between teachers and behavior analysts? Keywords: collaborative partnerships, teachers, behavior analysts, Multi-tiered System of Supports
